Odesa to Administer Computer-Based National University Entrance Tests in 2026.
National Multi-Subject Test (NMT) in 2026
According to Novyny.live: In 2026, prospective university students in Odesa and the wider Odesa region will take the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT) on computers. This computer-based testing will be conducted at designated examination centers, including educational institutions in the region. The NMT has now replaced the External Independent Evaluation (ZNO) as the standard entrance exam for bachelor's degree programs for five consecutive years. This shift is part of a broader effort to modernize Ukraine's education system following the full-scale invasion.
The main testing session for the NMT is scheduled to run from May 20 to June 25, 2026. During this period, applicants will have the opportunity to complete the computer-administered exam. An additional session is planned for July 17 to 24, 2026.
Registration for the NMT-2026 is expected to open in March or April 2026. This timeline will allow applicants to prepare for the test and gather the necessary documentation. The NMT is a crucial step in the admissions process for Ukrainian universities, and its digital format aims to streamline the testing procedure and enhance its overall efficiency.
Preparing for Changes in the Testing Process
Therefore, future applicants should prepare for the changes in the testing process that will take effect in 2026.
The transition to a computer-based NMT marks a significant phase in the reform of Ukraine's education system, focused on modernizing and optimizing student assessment. This innovation could improve the accessibility and convenience of testing for applicants, as computer-based tests may be less susceptible to human error, thereby increasing the objectivity of the results.
A successful implementation of this format could also serve as a model for other regions and educational systems.
