Zelensky Meets with Norwegian Prime Minister to Discuss Increased Aid for Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre to discuss increasing Norwegian support for Ukraine. According to information released on the president's official social media, Norway has decided to triple its aid to Ukraine to nearly $8 billion. These funds will be used for the procurement and production of drones, shells, and artillery systems.
Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to the people, parliament, and government of Norway for the support and the decision to triple aid for Ukraine in his statement.
During the meeting, issues of peaceful settlement and security guarantees for Ukraine were also discussed. Zelensky emphasized the importance of strengthening air defense, supplying ammunition, and investing in the Ukrainian defense sector. He also noted that the strengthening of support aims to force Russia to pursue a diplomatic path to end the war.
The meeting, which took place on March 20, 2025, was described as warm, substantive, and productive.
