Norway will allocate $7 billion to Ukraine: where the money will go.
According to inkorr.com: Norway has decided to provide Ukraine with significant assistance amounting to $7 billion for defense next year. This was confirmed by Norway's Minister of Defense Tore Sandvik during a meeting with Ukrainian Defense Minister Shmyhal.
“Minister Sandvik confirmed continued support for Ukraine and announced the decision to allocate $7 billion next year for defense needs. I thank the government and people of Norway for their substantial contribution, the provision of F-16s, and support for the Ukrainian aviation, for participating in the PURL initiative and in the Coalition of Maritime Capabilities,” wrote Shmyhal.
The agreement includes memorandums regarding the quality of defense products and the establishment of a joint defense enterprise in Ukraine. The needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, enhancing air defense, and developing long-range strike capabilities were also discussed.
“Another important step is the memorandum between Ukrainian and Norwegian companies to create a joint defense enterprise in Ukraine. This will strengthen our defense-industrial potential,” added Shmyhal.
Energy support package from Norway
The President of Ukraine reported that the country received a third energy support package from Norway this year totaling approximately $150 million. These funds will be used to purchase gas for the winter period. Earlier, Norway provided over $695 million for Ukraine's air defense.
Norway has confirmed its readiness to provide Ukraine with significant financial and military-technical assistance. The agreement includes not only the allocation of $7 billion for defense needs but also joint projects in the military sphere between companies from both countries and energy support packages for the winter.
This agreement marks another important step in deepening cooperation between Ukraine and Norway in the defense and energy sectors. The support provided by Norway is aimed not only at strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities but also at ensuring stability in critical sectors, such as energy.
