Norway Will Provide Ukraine with the Largest Military Aid in Its History.
Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov announced on his Facebook page that Norway plans to provide Ukraine with €2 billion in military aid by 2025. This amount is the largest support Norway has ever provided.
During a meeting with the Norwegian Minister of Defense Bjørn Arild Gram, which took place as part of the 'Ramstein' contact group, the main areas of usage for this aid were discussed. Special attention was given to strengthening air defense systems, investments in the Ukrainian defense industry, and joint projects, including ammunition production.
Umerov also noted that the implementation of a new cooperation mechanism - the 'Norwegian model' - was discussed. This mechanism will help strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities. The minister thanked Bjørn Arild Gram for Norway's leadership in the Coalition of Maritime Capabilities and for supporting Ukraine.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced agreements on additional support packages totaling $2 billion during a meeting of the Defense Contact Group in the 'Ramstein' format on January 9.
