New system for veterans: how to obtain combatant status online.
According to inkorr.com: Starting from January 2025, a new automated system for granting the combatant status (UBD) has been put into operation in Ukraine. According to the Ministry of Defense, over 71,000 military personnel have already taken advantage of this opportunity.
Main changes in the procedure for obtaining status
The main advantage of the new system is the ability to obtain the combatant status through the Unified State Register of War Veterans. The system automatically verifies and approves documents in real-time, which helps to avoid unnecessary bureaucracy.
Military units are required to enter the necessary information into the register within 5 days after the start of performing a combat task.
Procedure for obtaining status
The new system complements but does not abolish the classic procedure for obtaining UBD status through a commission. Applications can be submitted by commanders of military units or the military personnel themselves.
- Application in the established form
- Two photos 3x4 on matte paper
- Documents confirming participation in combat actions
'The application must be sent by mail to the commission of the military administration body to which the military unit is subordinated, where the serviceman is or was serving during participation in combat actions,' explained the Ministry of Defense.
The implementation of the automated system has significantly simplified the procedure for obtaining UBD status and reduced the waiting time for military personnel.
Thus, the new system, which started operating at the beginning of 2025, provides a quick and convenient way to obtain status, increasing efficiency for military personnel. The reduction of bureaucracy and simplification of the process are important steps towards supporting those who defend the country.
