New payments for children of IDPs starting from 2026: who will receive them and what are the conditions.
Introduction of new payments for children from IDP families
According to Novyny.live: Members of the inter-factional union 'IDPs of Ukraine' have decided to introduce new payments for children from families of internally displaced persons (IDPs) starting from February 1, 2026. This decision is aimed at supporting families in difficult living conditions and creating more stable conditions for raising children.
Conditions for new payments
According to the new conditions, the maximum income for receiving assistance will be 10,380 UAH. It is important to note that payments for certain categories of the population will not be canceled, including for:
- persons with disabilities of the I and II groups;
- pensioners with a pension of no more than 10,380 UAH;
- children with disabilities up to 18 years;
- orphans and children deprived of parental care;
- foster parents, adoptive parents, and guardians.
Changes in the conditions for receiving living allowances for IDPs will come into force in January 2026. Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danilo Hetmantsev noted:
“We will keep this issue under control together.” - Danilo Hetmantsev
These changes aim to alleviate the financial burden on families who have moved from other regions of the country. The introduction of new payments for children from IDP families underscores the state's efforts to support the most vulnerable categories of the population who have faced the consequences of internal migration due to conflicts or other difficulties. This decision can significantly impact the improvement of living conditions for such families, creating opportunities for a more stable upbringing of children in difficult socio-economic conditions.
In light of this, it is also important to monitor the government's subsequent steps regarding the implementation of these initiatives and their impact on society as a whole.
