New Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Addressed Ukrainians in the Rear.
The Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the commander of the operational-strategic grouping of troops "Khortytsia," Brigadier General Andriy Hnatov, expressed his opinion on the conflict situations in military brigades that have become known to the public in an exclusive interview for "Glavkom." He agrees that complex situations sometimes arise in the army, but calls on Ukrainians not to resolve them through social media, especially during combat operations.
The general agrees that this is a complex topic with many problems and sufferings.
According to Hnatov, the Charter clearly states that the commander is obliged to consider the needs and requests of the personnel and make decisions based on their appeals. If this issue is not within the competence of the immediate superior, the serviceman may address the next higher command.
"The Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defense have mechanisms and structures for interacting with subordinates that facilitate command. This includes studying the moral and psychological state of the servicemen, obtaining information about the condition of units, particularly in brigades, as well as combat reports provided by commanders," the general said.
Recently, information about scandals in the army frequently appears in the media. In particular, soldiers publish open statements about the appointments and dismissals of commanders. The Ministry of Defense considers this to be a manifestation of democracy. The ministry's spokesperson, Dmytro Lazutkin, in his interview, cited the example of the investigation into the losses of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. According to Lazutkin, the military leadership responded quickly to this case. This indicates that the Ukrainian army is capable of effective changes.
Colonel Emiyl Ishkulov, who was recently dismissed from the command of the 80th separate airborne assault Galician brigade, told "Glavkom" that he had once again talked with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, but their opinions differed. The video address of the unit commanders of the 80th brigade, which spread on the Internet on July 29, did not yield results—the colonel will not return to his position. But Ishkulov sees a positive in that Syrskyi called him and listened to his opinion.
