Works in Schools
At school No. 62, engineers have implemented a basement shelter and reinforced the foundation to ensure safety. This required relocating the communication system. There are 500 students studying at this institution. The shelter is expected to be available for local residents as well.
At school No. 122, existing shelter is currently being expanded, and renovations of the gym are underway, along with the creation of STEM laboratories. It is worth noting that both institutions were previously damaged during shelling.
Renovation works are also being carried out at lyceums No. 125 and Mykhailivskyi, as well as at gymnasiums No. 12 and No. 61. In addition, with the support of international partners, kindergarten No. 14 is being restored.
'We are not just restoring walls; we are shaping a safe, comfortable, and inspiring environment where children want to learn and grow,' said Pavlo Vugelman, deputy mayor of Odesa.
Nearly 325 million hryvnias have been allocated for renovation works in educational institutions in 2025.
We remember that it was recently reported that the number of schoolchildren in Odesa Oblast decreases annually. It was also noted that children are to be admitted to schools without tests.
Preparations for schools for the new academic year in Odesa are in full swing, focusing on creating shelters in educational institutions to protect against possible shelling. Renovation works are currently actively ongoing in many schools across the city, aimed at creating a safe and inspiring environment for children's development and learning.Read also
