Expert: Ukraine's Power Shortages Will Persist Even Without Missile Strikes.
Power Cuts to Continue Regardless of Attacks
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine will continue to face electricity restrictions even in the absence of missile strikes, as the country's energy system grapples with a persistent power deficit, particularly during the summer months. Former member of the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (NKRECP), Olga Babiy, stated that Ukrainians must prepare for prolonged energy limitations. This situation is a direct consequence of the extensive damage inflicted on Ukraine's energy infrastructure since Russia's full-scale invasion began in 2022.
The winter season significantly worsened the electricity supply situation due to low temperatures, which drove up energy consumption. Currently, 730 settlements remain without power, creating additional hardships for the population. The expert emphasized the critical need for adaptation to these new conditions:
'We need to get used to this, we need to prepare for it and set our minds to the fact that this is a marathon.' – Olga Babiy
Therefore, Ukrainians must understand that power restrictions will be long-term and must prepare accordingly for the ongoing challenges facing the nation's energy grid.
Forecasts and Necessary Adjustments
