Exchange '1000 for 1000' completed: another 303 Ukrainians returned from captivity.
Ukraine has completed the prisoner exchange with Russia
Using the '1000 for 1000' formula, Ukraine has successfully completed the third stage of the prisoner exchange and returned 303 Ukrainian soldiers from Russian captivity. This was announced by the country's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, according to 'Glavkom'.
'303 Ukrainian defenders are home. The third part of the exchange in the format of 1000 for 1000, which was agreed upon in Turkey, has been completed,' emphasized the head of state.
The president expressed gratitude to the team that worked around the clock for the successful implementation of this exchange and assured that every Ukrainian defender will be returned from Russian captivity.
Just yesterday, it was reported that the second stage of the prisoner exchange was successfully completed, during which 307 Ukrainian defenders returned home. This exchange marked the sixth this year and the 65th since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The prisoner exchange is part of the agreement on the format '1000 for 1000' reached during negotiations in Turkey.
The main goal of the exchange is to return Ukrainian citizens from captivity and restore families. We hope for further cooperation on this issue between Ukraine and Russia.
