Today, August 14, another exchange of prisoners took place between Ukraine and Russia. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, revealed the details of this event and published a video.
'Today, August 14, as part of the exchange, another 84 Ukrainians returned from Russian captivity. Almost all require medical assistance,' Budanov reported.According to him, among those released are people who were held in captivity illegally by the Russians and sentenced to long prison terms even before the invasion of 2022. There are also those who had been in prison under Russian supervision for several years.Also, fighters from various military units managed to return from captivity. The intelligence chief expressed gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for their assistance in conducting the exchange and emphasized that work in this direction continues.As a result of the prisoner exchange on August 14, 84 Ukrainians returned, most of whom require medical assistance. This exchange was another step towards the liberation of Ukrainian citizens who are illegally held in temporarily occupied territories.
