Russian drones struck energy infrastructure in Sumy region
Russian occupiers launched an attack in Sumy region using drones. Work is currently ongoing to restore damaged networks. The aggressors struck energy infrastructure facilities. This was reported by Ukrainian President

'I express gratitude to all our working groups, each energy specialist who is restoring normal conditions for electricity supply', — emphasized Zelensky. As a result of the missile strikes by Russian drones, over 220 thousand consumers in Sumy region were left without electricity. The head of state noted that among them are hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian families. At the moment, electricity supply in the region has been practically fully restored. Zelensky stated that he receives daily reports from the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Minister of Energy regarding the restoration process. According to him, all necessary resources are guaranteed.
'Ukrainians always rebuild what is destroyed. And our representatives at the negotiations in Turkey today will insist on an immediate and complete cessation of fire, especially in cases of such attacks on civilian infrastructure', — added Zelensky. It should be noted that on the night of July 23, Russian occupiers attacked Sumy region, resulting in part of the district losing electricity supply. And on the night of July 20, the aggressors struck residential buildings in Sumy region, causing one death.
By targeting the energy system in Sumy region, Russian occupiers created massive difficulties for hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians. President Zelensky highlighted the efforts of working groups and energy specialists in restoring electricity supply and emphasized the importance of an immediate cessation of aggression that poses a threat to the civilian population.Read also
