The head of the Cherkasy unified city military recruitment center will be tried for disrupting the mobilization plan.
The State Bureau of Investigation has completed its investigation against the head of the Cherkasy unified city military recruitment and social support center. He is accused of facilitating evasion of military service, which led to the disruption of mobilization plans. This was reported by the SBI referring to 'Glavkom'.
The investigation revealed that the head of the center unlawfully made decisions regarding the non-conscription and annulment of summonses for certain men. This seriously damaged the process of recruiting military units, especially those performing combat missions under martial law.
Illegal exclusion of individuals from mobilization lists caused a negative reaction in society and undermined trust in the work of the center and the mobilization process as a whole. Such actions also led to negative attitudes toward military service and reduced the authority of military personnel, the SBI noted.
The head of the Cherkasy unified city military recruitment and social support center is accused under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 4 of Article 425: negligence of a military official in service under martial law, causing significant harm;
- Part 5 of Article 426-1: abuse of official power by a military official in service under martial law, causing significant harm.
Sanctions provided by these articles include imprisonment for up to 12 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Defense exempts medical workers from suitability for military service. However, the request from the Ministry of Defense to the Ministry of Health concerns only specialists in shortage specialties who have undergone training in military accounting specialties.
