Occupants rush to the Oskol River, AFU flexibly counterattack - ISW report.
In recent weeks, Russian forces have been trying to establish a bridgehead near the Oskol River in the Kharkiv region. Their actions are aimed at finding advantageous positions in the areas of Pishchane, Kolisnykivka, and Kruhlakivka. This is reported by the Institute for the Study of War.
Experts note that Russian control over the Ukrainian army's advances towards Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi and Hlushkivka is not guaranteed. Russian forces do not have the capability to accelerate their advance along the Kupiansk-Svatove-Kreminna line, and even in other directions, their tactical initiative has not been successful.
Previous reports by the Institute for the Study of War also confirm successful AFU counterattacks near Nevske and Kreminna, which indicates their flexibility in confronting Russian forces.
Institute Studies
According to the Institute's report, the Russian Federal Security Service does not effectively coordinate the actions of regular Russian troops in the Kursk region, as it focuses on combating small terrorist groups rather than large regular troops conducting combined attacks on the front.
According to the Institute, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue offensive operations in the Kursk region, however, the Russians have recaptured dozens of settlements, including Kreminna, Toretsk, Pokrovsk, and Vuhledar. Instead, the AFU are successfully repelling occupant positions in Vovchansk.
