According to ТСН: In Ukraine, teachers are required to immediately stop classes — both offline and online — as soon as an air raid alert sounds. Lessons must be interrupted, and teachers and students should go to shelters and remain there until the official all-clear.

This information was confirmed by educational lawyer Liliya Orel in her TikTok video, drawing attention to the letter from the Ministry of Education and Science that regulates the organization of the educational process.

The document clearly states that during an air raid alert, all classes, including online ones, must be suspended. The lawyer emphasized that the teacher must not only end the lesson but also inform students of the need for an urgent transition to a safe place. She also stressed that parents and administration cannot demand the continuation of lessons in threatening situations, as a teacher cannot guarantee the safety of children.

Responsibility of Teachers

While children are at school, the responsibility for their lives and health lies with the teachers. If a student leaves school during an alert and goes home unaccompanied by adults, the responsibility still falls on the teacher. Therefore, educators have the right to keep students in classrooms during a danger signal.

It is also worth reminding that earlier information was reported about the dates of winter holidays in Ukraine and their duration in different regions.

These recommendations from the Ministry of Education and Science emphasize the importance of student safety in the educational process, especially in conditions of hostilities. By following these requirements, teachers ensure not only educational services but also the protection of children at a critical moment. This decision is part of broader efforts aimed at preserving life and health during the war.
