UN to Provide Families in Sumy Region with Up to 10,800 UAH in Aid: Eligibility Details.
UN Financial Assistance for Residents of Buryn Community
According to Novyny.live: The UN Refugee Agency is offering financial support to residents of the Buryn community in Ukraine's Sumy region to help them cope with the ongoing war. This aid is part of broader international efforts to assist civilians affected by the conflict. Payments will be available starting January 20, 2026, with each eligible individual receiving 3,600 UAH per month for three months. The maximum total aid per household can reach 10,800 UAH.
To qualify for this assistance, a family's per capita income must not exceed 6,300 UAH. Registration for the program will open on January 20 in Buryn. The registration office is located at 3 Pershotravneva Street, in the local House of Culture, and will be open from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Appointments can be scheduled in advance by calling 063 182 68 38.
Program Eligibility Criteria
The aid program's conditions are designed to support frontline communities. The following groups are eligible for financial assistance:
- Internally displaced persons;
- Refugees who fled due to the war after February 24, 2022;
- Single-parent families with young children;
- Elderly persons;
- Citizens over 55 years old who are caring for young children;
- Individuals with disabilities or serious illnesses.
This UN initiative aims to provide essential support to those most in need during the difficult circumstances of war.
