The heating season has started in 13 regions of Ukraine: how it is happening.
According to inkorr.com: As of October 28, 2025, the heating season has partially started in 13 regions of Ukraine. This information was announced by the Deputy Minister of Community and Regional Development, Konstantin Kovalchuk, as reported by the publication 'Glaсkom'.
According to Kovalchuk, this year the heating season began under difficult conditions due to attacks on energy and heat generation by external aggressors.
At this moment, more than half of the social sphere facilities, such as kindergartens, educational institutions, and medical establishments, are already receiving heat. Heating supply to residential houses has also started in 13 regions, while other areas are gradually connecting their users.
Readiness for winter
More than 17.5 thousand boiler houses and 17 thousand kilometers of heat networks have been prepared for the heating season. During the preparation, 340 kilometers of networks were replaced, and capital repairs were conducted. Kovalchuk emphasized the importance of rational resource use and noted that Ukraine is ready for this season thanks to the joint efforts of energy workers, utility services, local authorities, and support from international partners.
Thus, despite the attacks on energy and heat generation, Ukraine has already started the heating season in 13 regions, and more than half of the social facilities are provided with heat, according to the timely preparation for the winter period.
The launch of the heating season under such difficult conditions demonstrates the resiliency of the Ukrainian energy system. Careful preparation and joint efforts can ensure stable heating supply in the future, which is especially important during the winter.
