Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban supported Donald Trump, stating that if he wins the presidential election, he will achieve peace in Ukraine even before the inauguration.

At a press conference in Strasbourg, Orban reminded that an informal summit of European leaders is scheduled for November 7 in the capital of Hungary, reports Ukrinform, citing Politico.

"I am happy that the informal summit of European leaders will take place in Budapest on November 7 – two days after the elections (in the USA, – ed.)," said Orban, whom the publication calls "the leader of the populists."

He called it the most appropriate opportunity to discuss, "what we should think individually and as a community about the outcome (of Russia's war against Ukraine – ed.) and how to evaluate what needs to be done afterward."

According to Orban, there is a "significant difference" between Trump's foreign policy approach and that of the current US administration.

"You can choose according to national interests to your taste, who you prefer among them," said Orban, not hiding his own preferences. – "We will open a few bottles of champagne if Trump returns."

The Hungarian Prime Minister expressed confidence that Trump, in case of victory, "will not wait for the inauguration ceremony... to achieve peace."

"Trump will act immediately, and we, European leaders, cannot waste Time, because between the elections and the inauguration of the new president, there will not be two to three months, as is usually the case. We must respond first intellectually, philosophically, then strategically, and then at the level of action as quickly as possible," added Orban.
