Oschadbank Warns of Fake 2,200 Hryvnia Payout Scam.
Fraudulent Schemes Impersonating Oschadbank
According to Novyny.live: Oschadbank has issued a warning to its customers regarding a new fraudulent scheme exploiting the unstable power supply situation. Scammers are circulating information about a fake 2,200 hryvnia compensation payment from the bank, supposedly related to power outages. The criminals send links to a counterfeit website where victims are prompted to enter their details to receive the payment, which is merely a ploy to steal their money.
The bank has explicitly stated that it does not process compensation payments through messaging apps. A bank representative emphasized:
'Oschadbank does not issue compensation via messengers. We never ask customers to enter confidential card details (CVV, expiry date, SMS codes) on third-party websites.'
This warning is intended to protect customers from potential financial loss.
How the Scam Operates
The fraudsters follow a specific pattern:
- They send a link to a fake website designed to look legitimate;
- They request the entry of card numbers, expiration dates, and CVV codes;
- Instead of receiving money, victims have all funds drained from their accounts.
Oschadbank urges all clients to exercise extreme caution and ignore such offers. Financial scams often increase during periods of public uncertainty, making vigilance crucial.
In other news, Oschadbank updated its account service fees in 2026. The cost for SMS notifications has risen to 40 hryvnia, Viber notifications to 25 hryvnia, and a statement of account transactions now costs 150 hryvnia. Customers are advised to stay informed not only about fraud attempts but also about these changes in service tariffs.
Financial fraud remains a persistent threat, particularly in times of economic instability. The surge in scams exploiting electricity blackouts demonstrates how criminals seek to capitalize on current events for personal gain. Like other financial institutions, Oschadbank is committed to informing its clients of risks and protecting them from potential losses. It is essential for customers to remain alert and verify any information thoroughly before submitting personal data on any website.
