The largest mansion in the USA is being sold at a discount: what happened to the billionaire's estate.
According to inkorr.com: On the hills of Beverly Crest in Los Angeles, Hyatt heir Tony Pritzker built one of the largest mansions in the USA. The luxurious estate, covering over 4645 square meters, is now listed for sale at a price significantly lower than the original.
The construction of this impressive house took six years. Billionaire heir Tony Pritzker, whose fortune is estimated at $4.4 billion, owns this true architectural gem. The mansion boasts 16 bedrooms, 27 bathrooms, a cinema, bowling alley, tennis court, and a swimming pool with a view of downtown Los Angeles. The property spans six acres, featuring parking for 80-100 vehicles.
Price and reasons for the sale
In October 2024, the house was put up for sale at $195 million. If sold at that price, it would break the record set by Jeff Bezos, who purchased a mansion for $165 million in 2020. However, in April 2025, the price was reduced. According to The Wall Street Journal, the reason for the sale could be Tony Pritzker's divorce from his wife Ginn in 2022.
Despite this, the former wife has no legal rights to this property. The mansion is held in trusts and limited liability companies, which, according to experts, is becoming an increasingly popular practice among billionaires seeking to hide assets for tax and estate reasons.
Refined design and luxurious features
The project was developed by renowned architect Ed Tuttle. The interior is made of limestone, steel, and glass, with a pyramid-shaped atrium in the center of the house reminiscent of the Louvre. Among other impressive elements are a wellness center, 18 fireplaces, and panoramic views of Los Angeles.
In the context of events, it is worth noting that the sale of this mansion reflects changes in Tony Pritzker's personal life. The reasons for the price reduction may impact the luxury real estate market in the region, as such cases can be significant for other millionaires and billionaires considering the sale of their assets. Market users will also be interested in how long this property will remain on the market and what the maximum price could be in the current economic climate.
