Austin announced new military aid for Ukraine during his visit to Kyiv.

The US will provide Ukraine with military aid worth $400 million

On October 21, 2024, the United States announced the provision of another package of military aid to Ukraine worth 400 million dollars.

This was stated by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin during a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, reported by «Ukrinform».

According to Austin, under the leadership of US President Joe Biden, the United States continues to strengthen support for Ukraine in its fight against aggression. The new aid package will include munitions, military equipment, and weapons designed to enhance the country's defense capabilities.

The aid package will include:

• Ammunition for high mobility artillery rocket systems (HIMARS);
• 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition;
• 60mm, 81mm, and 120mm mortar systems and shells;
• Anti-tank systems Javelin and AT-4;
• Armored personnel carriers M113;
• Satellite communication equipment;
• Small arms and ammunition;
• Grenades and training equipment;
• Demolition equipment and munitions;
• Equipment for protection of critical national infrastructure; and
• Spare parts, auxiliary equipment, services, training, and transportation.

This visit to Kyiv is Austin's fourth since taking office as Secretary of Defense. During the trip, in addition to meeting with Zelensky, Austin also plans talks with Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
