The government has simplified compensation for destroyed housing: what has changed for Ukrainians.
According to inkorr.com: The government of Ukraine has simplified the procedure for obtaining compensation for destroyed or damaged housing due to the war, making the eRecovery program more accessible for citizens. Now, the new rules allow for remote confirmation of destruction and submission of repeated applications, taking into account the military situation. This was reported on the
official websiteof the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine.
How to confirm housing destruction remotely
The updated rules of the eRecovery program are aimed at helping those affected by shelling to quickly obtain housing certificates or funds for restoration. In localities that are constantly under attack, commissions will no longer visit the site. They will use that meet the requirements of the Regulation of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 472 of 21.04.2023.
Visual materials must clearly identify the object and demonstrate the extent of its damage. Based on this data, the commission prepares an inspection report, which is the basis for issuing a certificate for new housing, provided that the destruction is confirmed.
Repeated applications for compensation for destroyed housing
In addition, the government has allowed repeated applications for compensation if the previous one was not realized in time for objective reasons. The validity period for compensations is:
12 months for minor damages (category A).
18 months for medium damages (category B).
Circumstances that entitle to a repeated application include:
Serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other formations.
Complex security situation confirmed by official documents.
In such cases, the commission checks the previous report, records the circumstances in the Register of Damaged and Destroyed Property (RDPP), closes the old application, and considers the new one by the usual procedure.
Earlier we reported through eRecovery.
These changes in the eRecovery program can significantly ease the lives of people who have lost their homes, as many Ukrainians are currently facing difficulties in finding documents to confirm the destructions. Remote verification and new rules for returning compensation applications create opportunities for more people to receive the necessary assistance during this difficult time.
