Restrictions on gasoline introduced in Sevastopol: reasons for the fuel crisis

According to inkorr.com: Since September 29, gas stations 'TESS' in Sevastopol have imposed restrictions on gasoline sales due to increased demand. This decision aims to 'accumulate fuel at all gas stations and gradually return to the normal mode of operation.' The information is provided by 'Glavkom', citing the official channel of Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev.

Diesel fuel at TESS gas stations is sold without restrictions.

“We expect that thanks to this regime we will be able to accumulate gasoline at all gas stations and return to work on a regular schedule. Therefore, I again urge everyone not to stockpile in advance. Gasoline is brought to the city on a non-stop basis, but due to the hype at the gas stations, it has not yet been possible to return to planned operating mode,” Razvozhayev noted.

Reasons for the fuel crisis in Russia

For over a month, there has been a shortage of gasoline at Russian gas stations. According to the head of the Independent Fuel Union Pavel Bazhenov, due to the deficit, many gas stations are forced to limit gasoline sales to 10-20 liters per person or sell only diesel fuel.

The fuel shortage is mainly observed in southern regions, Central Russia, the Volga region, and the Far East, particularly in the Moscow, Ryazan, Leningrad, and Nizhny Novgorod regions. The main reasons for this phenomenon are seasonal increases in demand due to tourist activity, rising prices for wholesale batches of gasoline, scheduled repairs at oil refineries, as well as the consequences of Ukrainian drone attacks on the Ryazan and Novokuybyshev oil refineries.

The restrictions on gasoline sales at gas stations in Sevastopol aim to reduce hype and accumulate fuel to return to the usual mode. At the same time, Russia is facing a serious fuel crisis caused by many factors, including scheduled repairs at oil refineries and actions by Ukrainian drones on extraction facilities.
