Impact on Future Pension Amounts

The basic three-year indicator

of the average salary
for calculating current pensions in 2025 is 15,057.09 UAH. For those retiring after this year, the formula will take into account updated values, including the high September indicator. This will affect the coefficient of the individual salary to the average, and thus, the final amount of payments.

Indexation: What to Expect

Pensions are increased annually, based on a mixed coefficient:

  • 50% inflation + 50% average salary growth over the last three years.

The faster the average salary grows, the larger the indexation coefficient, and therefore, the greater the payments for retirees.

Thus, the growth of the average salary in Ukraine not only indicates an improvement in the economic situation but also has a direct impact on the pension system budget. This, in turn, can improve the welfare of future retirees, who will be able to count on more substantial payments thanks to the increase in the average salary.
