Ukraine to Introduce Special Service Pensions for Mothers of Five or More in 2026.
Special Service Pensions for Mothers in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: Starting in 2026, a new state initiative will provide special service pensions to mothers in Ukraine who have given birth to and raised five or more children. To qualify, a mother must have raised each child until at least the age of six. This policy represents a significant step toward recognizing the substantial societal contribution of mothers who raise large families.
Payment Amounts and Policy Goals
The special service pension will be calculated as a supplement ranging from 35% to 40% of the official subsistence minimum for individuals with disabilities. As of January 1, 2026, this will translate to a monthly payment of between 908.25 and 1,038 Ukrainian hryvnias. This financial support is designed to improve the economic well-being of eligible women. The policy is part of a broader effort to address demographic challenges and support family welfare in Ukraine.
The introduction of special service pensions for mothers of large families could mark a major development in Ukraine's social policy.
Consequently, the 2026 launch of these pensions reflects the state's aim to support families with many children and acknowledge their role in society. The initiative seeks not only to enhance the financial security of these mothers but also to encourage the birth and upbringing of children. It is anticipated that this state-level recognition and support for motherhood will stimulate positive societal changes, potentially leading to higher birth rates and improved conditions for raising children in large families.
