Pentagon: US to send additional fighters and several thousand troops to the Middle East.

The United States is enhancing Israel's security by sending additional troops and fighters to the Middle East, Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said.

According to her, the US is sending several squadrons of fighters to increase its presence in the Middle East.

The additional contingent will include F-15E Strike Eagle, F-16, A-10, and F-22 fighters, as well as personnel needed to support them.

Initially, it was planned that the new planes would replace the existing squadrons. However, it is stated that both squadrons will remain in place to double their presence.

Also, recently, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced the temporary extension of the stay of the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier group and its associated squadrons in the region.

According to Singh, the fighters are there permanently, not for evacuation assistance, but to protect American troops.
