On Monday evening, August 18, a 'preparatory' meeting began between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the leaders of the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO). The meeting is taking place at the Ukrainian embassy in Washington, foreign media reports.

Zelensky's preparatory meeting with European leaders

According to media reports, a 'preparatory' meeting began at the Ukrainian embassy in Washington between Zelensky and EU and NATO leaders. It was previously reported that President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of Finland Alexander Stubb, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte have arrived at the embassy. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer later joined them. European leaders will hold a 'preparatory meeting' with Volodymyr Zelensky before negotiations with Donald Trump.

According to media reports, the European leaders are expected to arrive at the White House at 7:00 PM Kyiv time. The meeting between Trump and Zelensky in the Oval Office is scheduled for 8:00 PM. Then, around 9:15 PM, European leaders are expected to join Trump and Zelensky.
