Salzburg is a city in Austria that wins tourists' hearts every year.
An Austrian gem, where classical architecture meets a winter fairy tale, has officially been recognized as the trendiest destination for the winter season 2024-2025.
The ferry company DFDS researched which cities are being searched for on social media and search engines for winter vacations in the new season, writes Time Out.
The fourth largest city in Austria this year has sparked 135 percent more interest than in the same period in 2023.
Salzburg is located surrounded by the Alpine mountains. In addition to enchanting snowy landscapes, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Salzburg can surprise tourists with beautiful baroque architecture, delicious ancient cuisine, and a bohemian lifestyle with numerous music festivals and museums.
The second place on the list went to the Norwegian city of Tromsø - the largest city located so close to the Arctic Circle. The luxurious Austrian capital Vienna rounded out the top three, with interest in it rising by 71% this year.
A total of 229 cities across Europe were analyzed.
