New Candidate Ratings: Zelensky is Rising, Zaluzhnyi is Losing Support.
According to ТСН: A new study conducted by the publication 'POLITARENA' and the company Active Group presents interesting data on candidate support in politics.
Rise in Zelensky's Support and Decline in Zaluzhnyi's
Researchers found that support for Volodymyr Zelensky increased from 26.8% in December 2025 to 32.2% in January 2026, while support for Valerii Zaluzhnyi decreased from 25.1% to 22.1%.
Situation with Other Candidates
Among other potential candidates, there have been less striking yet interesting changes:
- Petro Poroshenko: rose from 9.8% to 10.4% due to the stable core of his electorate.
- Kyrylo Budanov: decreased from 10.9% to 9.4%.
- Dmytro Razumkov: showed a significant drop from 8.1% to 4.8%.
“Overall, these figures do not change the configuration of leadership, but indicate a lack of trends towards consolidating support around alternative political figures,” researchers note.
High Level of Uncertainty
Societal researchers also emphasize the high percentage of respondents who have not made a choice: 13.1% could not name a candidate. Another over 19% either do not plan to participate in the elections or intend to spoil their ballots.
According to the authors of the study, this indicates fragmentation among voters and a lack of clear support for “new leadership,” as well as fluctuations in public opinion between cautious hope and distrust.
Context
We remind that the publication 'Politarena,' in collaboration with the company Active Group, continues to regularly measure public opinion and political dynamics in Ukraine as part of a new project.
Such studies are important for understanding the mood of Ukrainian society, as they show how support for political leaders changes and what factors may influence the electoral campaign. In conditions of high uncertainty, politicians must be attentive to shifts in voter opinions and adapt their strategies to gain support.
