India called the US tariffs unfair: what is the essence of the conflict over Russian oil.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs expressed outrage regarding the introduction of a 50% tariff on Russian oil by US President Donald Trump. They describe this move as 'unfair, unjustified and unreasonable', since oil imports are essential for ensuring energy security for the country with 1.4 billion population.
'Our imports are based on market factors and are carried out with the overall goal of ensuring energy security for 1.4 billion residents of India. Therefore, it is extremely regrettable that the US has decided to impose additional tariffs against India for actions that some other countries are also undertaking in their national interests'
In turn, India states that it will protect its national interests and will take all necessary measures to do so. They believe that the US decision is unfair and does not take into account the real situation in the energy resource market.
Ukrainians are subject to various tariffs set by importing countries, which can be reflected in consumer prices in the country. Changes in trade agreements between other countries can have significant economic implications for all parties and may require regulation and interaction to ensure economic stability.
