Benefits and Payments for Group I Disability in 2026: What Has Changed
According to Novyny.live: In 2026, people with Group I disability in Ukraine will be entitled to various benefits and payments, including medical services, transportation benefits, discounts on communal services and pensions. These changes are aimed at improving the living conditions of people with disabilities, providing them with the necessary support.
What Benefits Can People with Group I Disability Receive in 2026?
Firstly, they have the right to free or reduced medical services. This includes access to medical services and medications, which are important for ensuring their health. Information about transportation benefits in 2026 is also significant:
- from October 1 to May 15, a 50% discount on domestic travel applies to people with Group I disability;
- citizens who have received disability due to the war and have reached the age of 85 are entitled to one free ride per year.
Regarding benefits for communal services, people with disabilities due to the war have a 100% discount on communal services within the established norms. This significantly reduces the financial burden on individuals with special needs. As for payments, starting from January 1, 2026, the minimum pension for disability will be UAH 2,595. For people with Group I disability who were affected by the Chernobyl disaster, the minimum pensions will amount to UAH 9,855.71.
Thus, the innovations of 2026 provide important support for people with Group I disability, improving their access to medical services, transportation discounts, and financial assistance. These changes reflect the efforts of the state to create more comfortable conditions for individuals with special needs in Ukraine.
The changes introduced in 2026 highlight the importance of social support for people with disabilities in Ukraine, especially in the context of post-war recovery and improving the living conditions of this vulnerable category of the population. The benefits and payments implemented can significantly alleviate the financial burden on families emerging from difficult circumstances and facilitate the integration of people with disabilities into society.
