According to Novyny.live: Fifty residential buildings in Kyiv remain without heating following the hostile attack on January 9th. This disruption stems from damage to infrastructure caused by strikes from Russian occupying forces. In total, 6,000 buildings initially lost their heating supply due to the attack.
Municipal services are actively working to restore the heating supply. On January 17th, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko provided an update on the situation via Telegram, noting that utility workers are operating around the clock.
"I thanked them for their work," Klitschko stated, emphasizing the importance of their efforts during this difficult period.
State of Emergency in the Energy Sector
Furthermore, a state of emergency in the energy sector was declared across Ukraine on January 14th, highlighting the severity of the situation within the country's power infrastructure. This winter has seen repeated, widespread attacks targeting Ukraine's civilian energy grid. City services continue to do everything possible to repair the infrastructure and provide heat to the capital's residents.
