Poles have drastically changed their attitude towards Ukrainians: a survey.

Recent data from sociological research indicates a deterioration in Polish attitudes towards Ukrainians. According to CBOS data from February 2025, 38% of Poles expressed antipathy towards Ukrainians, which is 8% more than those who expressed sympathy. This situation has serious consequences for Ukrainians who face discrimination in their daily lives.

«My ten-year-old daughter often tells me that she wants to be Polish. Why? Because she feels inferior», shared her observations child psychologist Tetiana, who moved to Warsaw in 2022.

Scientist Petro Dlugosh explains the rise in negative attitudes as a result of competition for resources such as jobs and housing. This has created tension in the labor market, rising rental prices, and overburdened healthcare and education systems. Among the at-risk groups that express the most negative attitudes towards Ukrainians are low-income Poles and young women without higher education. This can seriously affect Ukrainians who face discrimination and intolerance in their everyday lives.
