The suspects, aged 19 and 47, are residents of the Mena community. Authorities identify the victim as a 43-year-old man from the village of Stolne.

The perpetrators allegedly stole 270,000 hryvnias from the victim's bank account. During their arrest, officers confiscated the following items from the suspects:

  • an AK-74 assault rifle
  • two pistols
  • a grenade with a detonator
  • ammunition
  • the victim's mobile phone

These findings underscore the severity of the crime and the attackers' readiness to use lethal force.

Investigation and Legal Proceedings

An investigation is now underway, led by the Koriukivka District Prosecutor's Office. The suspects face charges under Article 187, Part 4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which covers robbery committed with the use of weapons. Law enforcement officials continue to oversee the case, ensuring that all legal steps are followed.

This incident highlights growing concerns over firearm-related crime in Ukraine, particularly attacks targeting veterans and other vulnerable individuals.

Authorities are intensifying their efforts to investigate such offenses and enhance public safety, which in turn underscores the urgent need for stricter gun control measures across the country.
