Arrests Made in Connection with a Robbery Attack
According to TSN.ua: Law enforcement in Chernihiv Oblast has detained two individuals believed to be responsible for an armed robbery targeting a veteran of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on March 24. The suspects, aged 19 and 47, are residents of the Mena community. Authorities identify the victim as a 43-year-old man from the village of Stolne.
The perpetrators allegedly stole 270,000 hryvnias from the victim's bank account. During their arrest, officers confiscated the following items from the suspects:
- an AK-74 assault rifle
- two pistols
- a grenade with a detonator
- ammunition
- the victim's mobile phone
These findings underscore the severity of the crime and the attackers' readiness to use lethal force.
Investigation and Legal Proceedings
An investigation is now underway, led by the Koriukivka District Prosecutor's Office. The suspects face charges under Article 187, Part 4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which covers robbery committed with the use of weapons. Law enforcement officials continue to oversee the case, ensuring that all legal steps are followed.
