Poland Excluded Again from Key Negotiations on Ukraine: What is Happening.

According to ТСН: Poland expressed its outrage at being left on the diplomatic sidelines. Leaders of European countries, such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Ukraine, gathered in London to discuss a peace agreement, but Warsaw was not invited.

This has happened for the second time, as Poland missed the summit in Geneva. Poland's absence from such important negotiations has been a serious blow for the country, which actively supports Ukraine within the EU. The nationalist camp led by President Karol Nawrocki blames this on the liberal Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

“Poland's absence in London is yet another example of Donald Tusk's incompetence,” said a senator from the Law and Justice party, Marek Pek.

Poland has taken in a million Ukrainian refugees, is a key supplier for Kyiv, and spends the most on defense among NATO countries, planning to increase its army.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk also expressed his disappointment over Poland's absence. Last week, he noted that “no one in Moscow wants Poland to be everywhere.”

According to government spokesperson Adam Szlapka, nothing unusual happened in London, as “there are dozens of such formats, and they are constantly changing.” Poland, he said, “is not obligated to participate in all of them.” Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski contacted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the British Prime Minister, indicating Warsaw’s involvement.

Former President Bronislaw Komorowski, an ally of Tusk, argues that Poland's absence reflects the realities of geopolitics, rather than a diplomatic failure. He emphasized that London gathered “the three strongest European countries” that contributed the most to supporting Ukraine. According to him, Poland “is simply weaker,” and while its role is valued, it must correspond to its real weight.

Divided Diplomacy

While Tusk focuses on European coordination, President Nawrocki is trying to strengthen his foreign policy positions by visiting Washington and highlighting Poland's “independent voice.” State officials emphasize that it is Nawrocki who has more direct access to the White House.

His senior advisor Jacek Saryusz-Wolski noted that “Trump will never meet with Tusk,” and without the possibility of communicating with Trump, Tusk “doesn't add anything special” to the high-level negotiations. Nevertheless, despite improvements in relations with Trump, both camps maintain a tough stance regarding Russia's aggression.

Additionally, it is worth noting that a few days ago Nawrocki demanded “symmetry” in relations with Ukraine and invited Zelensky to visit Warsaw to discuss important bilateral issues.

This situation highlights the difficulties Poland faces on the international stage, particularly in the context of its support for Ukraine. The absence from important summits may affect its diplomatic positions and relations with Western partners. Meanwhile, Ukraine remains a key partner for Warsaw, which seeks to maintain its active role in regional politics.
