Polish Fundraiser for Kyiv's Generators Raises Over 13 Million Hryvnias in Three Days.
Polish Fundraiser Aims to Supply Generators to Kyiv
According to Novyny.live: A fundraising campaign in Poland, titled 'Warmth from Poland for Kyiv,' has collected approximately 13 million hryvnias in just three days. The initiative's goal is to purchase 100 generators to support the Ukrainian capital, which is facing a severe energy crisis. This effort highlights the strong solidarity between the two neighboring nations.
Kyiv's Critical Energy Shortage
The situation in Kyiv remains dire, with up to 100 residential buildings having been without heat for over a week. In response, the campaign organizers have increased their initial fundraising target to 23.9 million hryvnias, equivalent to 2 million Polish zloty. The crisis was exacerbated by emergency power outages implemented in the Kyiv region on January 18th.
The fundraiser is ongoing, and the organizers are urging all concerned individuals to contribute to this vital cause.
This initiative represents a crucial step in supporting Kyiv, given the harsh winter conditions and the energy problems that are severely impacting the lives of many residents.
Procuring these generators will not only provide heat for homes but also ensure a stable power supply for critical infrastructure, which will help improve the humanitarian situation in the region.
