Poland's Fundraiser for Kyiv Generators Surpasses 2.3 Million Zloty.
Fundraising Campaign for Kyiv's Power Supply
According to UATV: In response to Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, a fundraising drive has been launched in Poland. The initiative aims to purchase 100 generators, charging stations, sleeping bags, and fuel for Kyiv. To date, more than 2.3 million zloty (over 635,000 US dollars) has been raised. This effort highlights the critical need for backup power in Ukrainian cities facing repeated blackouts.
Solidarity and Broader Support
Organizers note that Poles deeply understand the importance of solidarity in difficult times. Every zloty donated to the charity fund brings the shipment of this vital equipment closer. In a related show of support, Czech President Petr Pavel has pledged to provide Ukraine with energy equipment and to continue participating in ammunition procurement. This underscores the sustained backing from neighboring nations against the ongoing aggression.
The initiative demonstrates not only the active support from Poland and the Czech Republic but also the broad international solidarity with Ukraine. Providing energy equipment is increasingly crucial as Ukraine's power grid continues to suffer significant war damage. The efforts undertaken by these neighboring countries could prove decisive in helping ensure stability and recovery in Ukraine during a challenging winter.
