Ukraine has lost two outstanding journalists: when and where the farewell will take place.
According to inkorr.com: Unfortunately, Ukrainian journalism has suffered losses. In August, photojournalist and director Dmytro Stoikov passed away after an 11-year battle with brain cancer. The surgery performed in 2022 could not overcome this disease.
Farewell to Dmytro Stoikov
The farewell to the media figure will take place in Kyiv on October 10 at 13:30 at Baikove Cemetery in the ritual hall near the crematorium.
Honoring the memory of Oleksii Shalaiskyi
On October 8, a memorial for Oleksii Shalaiskyi, co-founder of the 'Our Money' portal and an outstanding journalist who passed away on October 4 from heart disease, was also held in Kyiv. Shalaiskyi was known for his principled stance in exposing political corruption and opaque schemes in power.
These two losses have been a serious blow to the Ukrainian journalistic community, but the legacy of Dmytro Stoikov and Oleksii Shalaiskyi continues to live on through their art and influence on Ukrainian society.
Both journalists left a significant mark on Ukraine’s media landscape, bringing important topics into public discourse. Their honesty and pursuit of justice inspired many colleagues, and their achievements remain a model for future generations of journalists.
