This was reported by the Naval Forces of Ukraine.
Missing sailors
In May 2022, sailors from the Ukrainian Navy boat 'Stanislav' participated in the battle for the liberation of Snake Island near Odessa in the Black Sea. As a result of a missile strike, the captured vessel was sunk. Part of the crew was rescued, but four individuals still have no traces found. The missing individuals are:
- Oleksandr Sukhorukov
- Volodymyr Lyashko
- Serhiy Tukmachov
- Vladyslav Kostiuk
The relatives of the missing sailors are considering the possibility that they may be in enemy captivity, and have called on the international community to help uncover this tragedy.
'The hope of the relatives remains enemy captivity. However, to take advantage of this opportunity for the boys' return, the terrorist state must confirm all prisoners. Publicity. Pressure. Influence of international organizations and partners. We must use all tools to ensure our boys return to their families,'- the message from the Naval Forces of Ukraine stated. The crew of the landing assault boat 'Stanislav' near Odessa found themselves in a difficult situation, and four servicemen are still reported missing. The sailors' relatives hope that the international community will assist in the search and return of their loved ones home.
