According to inkorr.com: Hasidic pilgrims are gradually arriving in Uman to celebrate the Jewish New Year Rosh Hashanah. As of September 15, 2025, over three thousand believers have already visited the city, and a total of about 50,000 pilgrims are expected. This information is provided by 'Glavkom' referring to Suspilne Cherkasy.

To ensure the safety of the pilgrims, checkpoints and video cameras are being set up on the streets of Uman. Anastasia Baryshnikova, PR Director of the International Charitable Foundation named after Rabbi Nachman, noted that this will facilitate control over the entry into crowded areas.

What is Rosh Hashanah?

Rosh Hashanah is a holiday that marks the beginning of the new year in Judaism and lasts for two days - from September 22 to 24. For Hasidim, this period is a time for reflection on the past, repentance, and prayer. Uman holds special significance for Hasidim due to the tomb of Rabbi Nachman, the founder of Breslov Hasidism. Praying by his grave symbolizes spiritual purification and forgiveness of sins for the entire year.

Moreover, Ukraine and Israel have developed a special security plan for Hasidim arriving in Uman during the celebration of Rosh Hashanah. This plan includes the involvement of numerous police officers, paramedics, and volunteers who will work together to ensure the safety of the pilgrims.

The participation of Hasidim in the celebration of Rosh Hashanah in Uman has already become a tradition that attracts thousands of believers from around the world. Thanks to the efforts of local authorities and international organizations, this year the safety of pilgrims is expected to be at a high level, creating favorable conditions for all participants in the celebrations.
