Capacity of Charging Stations in Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: The capacity of home electric vehicle charging stations in Ukraine has reached 0.5 gigawatts, signaling robust growth in the EV market and its supporting infrastructure. This expansion aligns with a broader push for energy resilience. Concurrently, the industrial battery storage market received fresh momentum in 2025, unlocking new potential for energy storage and enhancing the stability of the national power grid. Experts forecast that by 2026, the total capacity of industrial energy storage in Ukraine could climb to 600 MW.
Stanislav Ignatiev pointed out that approximately half a gigawatt of charging stations are now installed in Ukrainian homes, reflecting rising public interest in electric vehicles and the corresponding need for infrastructure. A significant milestone was reached in 2022 with the commissioning of 282 MW of industrial energy storage capacity, marking a major advance for this market segment. DTEK was responsible for the largest share of this capacity, implementing about 200 MW, which underscores the active role of major companies in this sector.
