In 2025, some Ukrainians will be able to avoid meter verification: who will be exempt.
Ukrainian citizens will have the opportunity to avoid meter verification in 2025. This decision was made by the Cabinet, adopting the resolution 'Some issues of verification of legislatively regulated measuring instruments in conditions of war and emergency state'.
Who is eligible for this
The exemption applies to individuals living in temporarily occupied territories or in regions with active combat actions. For them, it is not necessary to conduct meter verification until the end of the state of war. After that, established terms will apply: residents of combat zones – 6 months, and residents of occupied territories – 3 months.
How the procedure works
After verification, the owner receives a certificate with the meter readings and the date of the work performed. These documents need to be submitted to the utility provider. The cost of the verification service ranges from 350 to over 1000 hryvnias, depending on the type of device and the region.
In addition, there is a hotline in Kyiv for organizing the verification of heat and water meters, which simplifies the procedure for residents. Even during the state of war, gas suppliers can disconnect debtors from the network for non-payment of bills.
Ukrainian citizens will be able to temporarily avoid meter verification in 2025, which will simplify their daily lives, especially in military and occupied regions. Further timelines and conditions for the verification procedure are detailed, allowing citizens to be prepared for future obligations.
