According to inkorr.com: In Tokyo, six people sustained minor injuries and were hospitalized as a result of a fire likely caused by the explosion of a portable charger (power bank). The incident occurred on September 25 at around 01:50 local time in the Sugiyama area. The fire service received a call from a resident of a five-story apartment building who reported a fire involving a mobile battery.
According to information from the Tokyo police and fire department, approximately 20 square meters of a room on the second floor, where the fire likely started, were burned. Eight people aged between 10 and 60, including a girl living in the apartment, experienced deteriorating health due to smoke inhalation, and six of them required medical assistance.
A resident of the room where the fire likely started said, 'I was sleeping while the portable charger was connected to my smartphone for charging. Suddenly, I heard a bang and saw the battery catch fire.'
Currently, the Tokyo police and fire department are investigating to determine whether the cause of the fire was indeed the explosion of the mobile battery. This incident follows another mishap - the collapse of a road in Bangkok.
As a result of the fire in the apartment building in Tokyo, six individuals sustained minor injuries and were hospitalized, with the likely cause of the fire being the explosion of the portable charger. The police are actively investigating the circumstances of this event to prevent similar incidents in the future.
