According to Novyny.live: In Ukraine, men who are liable for military service cannot secure a job without military registration documents while martial law is in effect. However, there is a pathway to obtain a reservation (bronia) at enterprises deemed critically important, which can significantly ease the job search process for these individuals.

To obtain military registration documents, citizens can use the 'Reserve+' or 'Diia' apps. Since December 2025, paper-based military registration documents are no longer issued, highlighting the shift toward digital formats. When starting a new job, employees must also notify the local territorial recruitment center about their new workplace.

Documents and Conditions for Reservation

The required paperwork and conditions for job reservation are key concerns for those subject to military service. Companies in the defense-industrial complex benefit from a relaxed rule: a 45-day reservation period. Importantly, the lack of a paper military ID does not prevent someone from being reserved at a critically important enterprise.

Vladyslav Deriy notes: 'If you are not registered, your only chance to be reserved is to get a job at a defense-industrial complex enterprise.'

Without a military ID, citizens cannot access administrative services such as employment or enrollment in educational institutions. Yuriy Ayvazyan emphasizes that 'to get a job, you need to generate a military registration document either through the 'Reserve+' app or 'Diia''. This underscores the need for those liable for military service to actively formalize their registration documents in order to find work under martial law conditions.
