In Transcarpathia, a driver crashed through the border with Hungary: a border guard was injured.
According to inkorr.com: On October 30, an incident occurred in Transcarpathia that caused outrage – a car driver not only drove at high speed through two closed barriers of the checkpoint, but also injured a border guard. After this, he fled into Hungary, violating the Ukrainian border. This was reported by the spokesperson of the Mukachevo border detachment, Lesya Fedorova, and the information was published by the publication 'Hlavkom', citing Zaxid.net.
Circumstances of the incident
The spokesperson's statement confirmed that the car driver drove at high speed through both barriers and crossed the border into the neighboring country, as a result of which the border guard was injured. It is known that the car was driven by 38-year-old Eduard Pukanych, a former lawyer and current serviceman, as reported by one of the deputies on his Telegram channel.
As a result of the incident, the border guard was injured, and the car driver was evacuated to Hungary. Currently, the police are conducting an investigation to clarify all the circumstances of the case and identify those responsible who will be held accountable according to the law.
This case draws attention to the security at Ukrainian borders, as such incidents can threaten not only border guards but also safety in general. Authorities urge vigilance in adhering to border crossing rules and to respond appropriately to violations.
