Pritula on sources of fake news: who is attacking the volunteer movement in Ukraine.
According to ТСН: Volunteer Serhiy Pritula spoke about the results of OSINT agency 'Molfar' research. They found that misinformation and 'black PR' are spread in Ukrainian media from two main sources.
Sources of Disinformation
According to Pritula, about half of all fakes come from abroad, particularly from Russian special services, which are trying to undermine trust in the volunteer movement in Ukraine. The other part of the disinformation is created domestically, including by representatives of former President Petro Poroshenko's entourage.
'Mr. Chekalin records an interview in November 2024 and claims that his friend saw Pritula buying 6 cans of black caviar for 62 thousand hryvnias at the supermarket. In September of this year, Chekalin in another interview says that his wife saw Pritula buying 6 cans of black caviar for 81 thousand hryvnias. This not clever man is deliberately lying,' said Pritula.
The volunteer emphasized that such attacks pose a threat not only to individuals but also to the entire volunteer community that has been supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 2014.
'I am a part of the volunteer movement system of Ukraine since 2014. By attacking me or any other volunteer initiative, you are not just attacking one specific person, you are attacking the whole movement,' Pritula noted.
Furthermore, it was previously reported that Petro Poroshenko, instead of helping the Armed Forces, purchased bonds worth 156 million hryvnias from donations from Ukrainians, receiving 30% of them as profit that is not subject to taxation. From this operation, he received 50 million UAH due to high profit percentages and bank fees, as the deal was conducted through the International Investment Bank, which belongs to him.
Thus, the disinformation and information manipulation being studied pose a serious problem for the volunteer movement in Ukraine. The position of volunteers who support the army suffers from unreliable news that undermines their image. This issue requires attention from society and the media to prevent further harm to volunteering.
