PrivatBank's 2026 Data Update Requirement Sparks Customer Frustration.
PrivatBank's 2026 Data Update Drive
According to Novyny.live: In 2026, PrivatBank is requiring its customers to update their personal information, but many are encountering significant obstacles when trying to comply. This mandatory procedure can be completed via the 'Privat24' mobile app or web portal, or by visiting a physical bank branch. For an in-person update, customers must bring their passport and taxpayer identification number.
Bank clients are already reporting numerous issues during the update attempts. One customer stated:
“I tried several times, all in vain. Sometimes there's a critical system error, other times my passport—the same one used to open my accounts and cards years ago—is suddenly flagged as invalid.”
This points to serious technical glitches preventing customers from meeting the bank's requirement. Furthermore, clients have expressed frustration with severely limited branch operating hours:
“Unfortunately, branches are open for about 15 minutes a day, leading to long queues, making it practically impossible to update data there.”
This complicates the process, forcing customers to spend considerable time attempting to visit branches that are rarely accessible. Such data updates are a common regulatory requirement for banks to combat fraud and money laundering.
It is worth noting that PrivatBank has waived card delivery fees for all of 2026, which may ease some customer service aspects. However, the core problems with the data update system remain unresolved.
The difficulties faced by PrivatBank's customers highlight a need for improved technological processes and service reliability to ensure seamless operations. In Ukraine's competitive banking sector, resolving these issues is critical for maintaining client trust and satisfaction. Failure to promptly address the data update failures could also impact the bank's operational stability and reputation.
