Ukrhydrometcentre warned about icy conditions and snowstorms on December 29.
According to ТСН: On December 29, the weather in Ukraine will be windy, snowy, and frosty. Forecasters are warning of possible icy conditions on the roads.
Weather forecast
On this day, gloomy weather will prevail in Ukraine. Light snow is expected in the west and southwest, and slippery sections may form on the roads.
The wind will be northwestern at a speed of 7-12 m/s. In the right bank, except for Transcarpathia, wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are possible, as well as snowstorms.
During the day, the temperature will fluctuate from -4 to +1 degrees, while in the extreme south the air may warm up to +1…+4 degrees.
Warning for the Kyiv region
Kyiv residents and residents of the region have been warned about dangerous weather conditions on December 29. Gloomy weather with snow and icy conditions on the roads is expected. The northwestern wind will blow at a speed of 7-12 m/s, with possible gusts of 15-20 m/s in the morning with snowfall.
In the region, the temperature during the day will be from -4 to +1 degrees, while in Kyiv it will remain around 0 degrees.
First level of danger (yellow) announced. The weather conditions may complicate the work of energy, construction, and communal services, as well as affect transportation.
Real winter bad weather before the New Year
During the New Year holidays and at the beginning of January, true winter bad weather is predicted in Ukraine: severe frosts of up to -19°C and heavy precipitation. From December 29 to January 1, the country will be under the influence of snowfalls, snowstorms, and icy conditions, with the peak of the cold spell occurring on New Year’s Eve and January 1.
Such weather conditions may seriously affect daily life, especially transportation and the work of communal services. Therefore, residents should be particularly careful on the roads and follow the instructions of emergency services in case of worsening situations.
