Russians have breached the defense in Donetsk: what is really happening at the front.
Russians advance in small groups, but have not occupied the territory
Viktor Trehubov explained that Russian troops actively use the 'saturation' tactic. This means that small groups of occupiers constantly try to exert pressure on the positions of the Defense Forces, bypassing the first line of defense and penetrating deep into the Ukrainian positions by any means.
Such groups, usually consisting of 5-10 individuals, attempt to pass through fire zones, after which they either engage in battle with Ukrainian units, including drone operators, or attempt to gather forces in specific locations, for example, hiding in buildings. In reality, it is only a temporary penetration of a few enemy soldiers, who are subsequently ousted by Ukrainian forces from the occupied points.
The spokesperson emphasized that the situation in the Pokrovsk and Dobropil directions may cause misunderstandings among those who assess it only by maps from open sources. Recall that Deepstate analysts updated the combat maps in Ukraine, showing that Russian forces have significantly advanced in Donetsk.
And today, August 12, the 'Azov' group made a statement about a defensive operation near Pokrovsk.
Ukrainian military noted that although Russian forces may advance in small groups in Donetsk, their attempts to break through did not lead to the occupation of territory. The Defense Forces have managed to repel attacks and maintain their positions.Read also
