According to The Sun: Vladimir Putin participated in a ceremonial reception in China before the ‘Axis of Evil’ meeting, which includes North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

However, his visit did not stop the attacks on Ukraine – strikes on civilian and military targets continue, including at night.

Putin made his longest foreign visit in over a decade, attending the 25th SCO summit, at which Chinese President Xi Jinping hosts negotiations with leaders from China, India, Russia, Pakistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Belarus.

Next week, leaders will meet with Kim, concluding the ‘Axis of Evil’, for a massive parade.

Kim, making his first visit to China in six years, will sit next to Putin and Xi during a military might demonstration in Tiananmen Square on Wednesday.

Putin will likely be pleased, as global pressure is growing due to his refusal to end the war in Ukraine.

While Putin arrived, Xi had already been negotiating with several leaders, including Putin's main ally Alexander Lukashenko from Belarus.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited China for the first time since 2018, preparing for a meeting between the two largest countries in the world.

Putin aims to strengthen his anti-Western alliances in Beijing and solidify his position in the fight against Europe.

He also plans to forge more trade agreements with China and other Asian countries to support his economy and finance the war.

Meanwhile, bombs continue to fall on Ukraine, including drone strikes on the port in Odesa, factories in Pavlograd, and civilian targets.

As a result of the attacks, a cargo ship was destroyed, and two railway stations, one of which is in the port, caught fire.

The Pavlograd chemical plant was shelled for the second time that evening.

A 74-year-old man died in the Kherson region, and four others were injured.

Russian military forces show no signs of reducing violence, while Ukrainians suffer deadly attacks almost every night.

One of Putin’s key generals, Valery Gerasimov, stated:

“The execution of the tasks of the special military operation by the joint group of troops will continue through offensive actions.”

“Today we will clarify the tasks for the troops in operational directions for the autumn period.”

He emphasized that the army 'continues an uninterrupted offensive almost along the entire front line'.

Trump seems to have left his two-week term, during which he planned to impose heavy sanctions on Russia if it did not agree to deals.

He compared the warring countries to fighting children on a playground:

“You have one child, and there’s another child on the playground, and they hate each other, they start to fight, and you want them to stop, and they continue.”

“And after a while, they end up happy to stop. It’s almost like that.”

“Sometimes they need to fight a little before you can make them stop. But it’s been going on for a long time. Many people have died.”

President Zelensky, however, is confident that a meeting with Putin would be “the most effective way forward” to end the war in Ukraine.

Returning to the SCO summit, Xi told Modi:

“Today the world is engulfed in transformations that happen once in a century. The international situation is both unstable and chaotic.”

“The right choice for both sides is to be friends who have good neighborly and friendly relations, partners who contribute to each other’s success, and have the dragon and elephant dance together.”

“By adhering to a general direction of partnership rather than competition, China and India’s relations can maintain stability and move forward in the long term.”
